Festival of Colors

Back in March, my roommates and I went to Festival of Colors. It's some kind of holiday for some other religion, but lots of BYU students go participate. It's really fun; you get to buy colored chalk powder and then you basically throw it at each other. It was a lot of fun. I did actually get some pictures.

It had just snowed, so someone made a snowman. The snowman couldn't even escape the chalk powder.

As we left, we could still see people throwing colored powder at each other.

It was lots of fun. We had fun throwing chalk at each other, and then we went out to eat, and it was awesome!

Waterfalls

I really love waterfalls, for who knows what reason, so when one of my roommates had to go look at a waterfall for one of her classes, one of my other roommates and I decided to tag along. It was a really fun little trip. We went to Bridal Veil Falls and looked at the waterfall. It was really windy and cold, but it was a pretty view.

Also, BYU has been putting in an artificial creek all year, thus making the long walk up to campus (which isn't that long, really, just uphill and thus difficult) a little bit more difficult. They finally finished up in the last few weeks of school, so I actually got to enjoy some of the beauty of it before I left for home.

Also, while I was walking on the trail next to the stream, I got to see the only trees with spring blossoms that I got to see all year, so that was kind of exciting. Not that I'm complaining about spring pretty much being over at home; I really enjoy the warmth!

Mountains

I've been planning this post for forever (since September), but I wanted to get pictures of the mountains during all four seasons. We kind of had a few days of spring before I got to come home for the summer, so I finally got that picture, but things have been crazy with finishing finals and coming home. So here are my pictures.

Spring

While I was at it, I thought I'd get a picture of the mountains when it was rainy. The clouds get low enough that they block the view of the mountains, and it can have kind of a cool effect.

I also thought I would add a picture of inversion. The pollution in Utah is awful, and on one of the more visible days, I was kind of angry about it (breathing in that altitude is difficult enough without adding pollution), so I thought I'd document how nasty it is.

Despite the pollution, though, the mountains are usually beautiful. They are one of my favorite things about going to BYU.
