Music City Bowl

Do I dare to even blog about this??? Well, it was awesome to get to go to the game. One thing that I really miss while I'm off at school is Tennessee football. It just isn't the same when you're the only one around who even cares. So I was really excited to get to go to a Tennessee game, and the fact that it was a bowl game just added to the excitement. It was nice to, just once, get to go to a game decked out in orange and white and sing "Rocky Top" (is it sad that I still don't have the BYU fight song memorized???).

The halftime show was amazing. Of course, how could it not be with the Pride of the Southland Marching Band? Their circle drill was so awesome. We tried basic circle drill once at a band practice when I was still in high school. The brass made up the outside circle and the woodwinds were the inner circle, and the drumline might have been in the middle of the woodwind circle. Each circle marched in opposite directions from the one next to it. It sounds simple enough in theory, but I can attest to the fact that it's a lot more difficult than it looks. And their circle drill went way above an beyond our little circle drill. So I took a lot of pictures of that.

It was really awesome to get to go the game.

Home for Christmas

I know it's almost the end of January now, but I haven't updated my blog in forever, so I finally decided to blog about Christmas. Christmas was definitely amazing. I got to go home (how much more amazing can it get???) and I had an awesome time with my family. We played Farkle and Phase 10, and I even learned how to play Rummie (I think that's what it was, anyway).
Savannah was just as entertaining as always. Oh, how I miss that girl!

It was also great to see Zachary, although he typically tries to avoid the camera. I did manage to get a few pictures of him, though. You can really tell that he was thrilled about that.

Brinkley got some new toys for Christmas. They are some of the few toys that he isn't afraid of (that dog is such a chicken).

The weather was kind of funny. I was expecting to go home to warmth, but instead, we had the first white Christmas I've ever had (or at least the first white Christmas that I can remember).

And then we had a 70 degree New Year's Eve. The weather really needs to make up its mind occasionally.

Temple Square Trip

So the past little bit has been pretty busy, between finals week and then Christmas break, so I realized that I really was in desperate need of updating my blog (after Savannah pretty much begged me to put pictures up). So here goes. Right before finals week, we had a ward activity. They actually got a few buses to take us up to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. It was a really neat experience, especially since I'd never seen that before. I did get some pictures from that (I actually remembered my camera!).

Those are my pictures of the Temple. I also got a picture of some of the other decorations. There was this other building. I don't know what building this is, but it's pretty, especially with all of the lights.

There was also a big Christmas tree made out of lights.
