So this week has been fairly uneventful, but it's starting to hit me that the school year is almost over. This week, I started going through all my stuff to figure out what's coming and what's staying so we can figure out how I'm getting home. It's really exciting to think that I'll be home in just a little over a month, and that I'll get to stay home for a few months this time instead of just a few days or a few weeks. I'm really excited to see everyone and be home. But at the same time, it's started to hit me how much I'll miss all my friends here over the summer. The thought occurred to me that I only have to conduct the music in Sacrament Meeting one more time before the end of the school year. I'm kind of sad about that. And this week, I've had a little taste of how much I'll miss my roommate over the summer (she got a boyfriend, so I pretty much never see her anymore). And just today, two of my friends opened their mission calls. And more are still waiting on their mission calls within the next couple of weeks. And it's hitting me that most of the guys that I've met here will be on their missions for two years, so that's weird to think about. But it's really awesome that they're going on missions (it's so fun to see how excited they get when they open their mission calls). And as for the girls in my hall, we won't all be living together next year. True, I'll have some friends nearby, but others will be on the opposite side of campus. And I'll still see them sometimes, but it's still kind of sad to think about. It's just kind of a week of conflicting emotions.
It's kind of funny how much I resisted coming here for college. I was so sure that I would hate it, as it's in Utah. And, admittedly, Utah is still not my favorite place in the world. It's a little too cold here for me, and it's way too far away from home. But throughout this year, I have really come to love BYU. I'm glad that I chose to come here.
